The benefits of floating differ from person to person. While some people report having fantastic results after just one session, others may take six sessions or more to obtain physical and emotional benefits. It has been reported that it can take several sessions to become used to going into a meditative state while in a float tank. In this area, it can all be down to practice! This will, of course, depend also on your experience with meditation!
Floating is becoming very mainstream and you will find that all types of people are floating and for varied reasons! Some people float for relaxation, others for emotional healing, and others for physical healing.
This is a personal choice. Each cabin is completely private. Majority of people float in the nude. Feel free to wear a swimsuit or shorts and tshirt. Keep in mind part of the experience is the feeling of nothingness and having restricting clothing can take away from that.
We recommend not shaving the day of your float.
Absolutely. The added weight and pressure of pregnancy are significantly relieved while floating, bringing relief and relaxation to both mind and body. ALWAYS consult your doctor before floating while pregnant.
Yes. Please follow the same standards you would while using a hot tub or swimming pool.
Many people feel comfortable leaving the cabin door open for the first bit of their float till they know what to expect. However, once you are in and see all the room you may decide to close the door. You can exit at any time you feel necessary.
If you are not over 500 LBS or 7 Feet tall you will be just fine. :)
No. Floating is a personal experience. We have other cabins if you would like to bring a friend.
No. The high Epsom salt content of the water means that the water will not draw the salt from your skin and cause wrinkles like a long bath will. It is non-toxic and not harmful if swallowed. Epsom salt is nourishing for the skin, which is why many people feel silky smooth after their float session.
We recommend 60 min for first-time floaters. As you become more experienced and aware of the effects, you may find that you would like more time. Others may want to float for 2, 3, or more hours. At this present time, we will offer 30,60 , and 90 min and can discuss additional time on a case-by-case bases.
We are continually asked if we change the water between each user of our float cabins, and most people are surprised when we say "no." Through two-step filtration and three-step sanitation systems, the entire contents of our float cabins are filtered at least four to five times between every user. The super-concentrated salt solution combined with Hydrogen Peroxide (H202) passes through a 10-micron cartridge filter and then a UV filter. UV light provides rapid, effective inactivation of microorganisms through a physical process. When bacteria, viruses, and protozoa are exposed to the germicidal wavelengths of UV light, they are rendered incapable of reproducing and infecting. Once the UV process is complete the water then passes through an Ozone system. Ozone is extremely active as a disinfectant. We constantly monitor the water levels, H2o2, salt levels, PH and Alkalinity which are logged daily.
